Happy May! There is such a feeling of hope in the air today as we look forward to an easing of restrictions in the coming weeks. We are so excited to start planning some outdoor summer time events in our communities.

Picnics, BBQs, sharing food – There’s nothing quite like it for creating a buzz of community spirit. In the month of May we’re planning to get out on the street, local park or green with our nextdoor neighbours for mini Street Feasts!
Music and games are definitely encouraged just remember to keep your circle small and stay in line with current covid guidelines.
At the moment we can meet up safely with one other household outdoors and from May 10th we can finally meet up with 15 people from two other households outdoors!
Summer 2021 is finally starting to look a little bit brighter!

DIY bunting
Recently a few neighbourhood networkers have been in touch about ways they can bring the Street Feast energy to their neighbourhood, even if hosting a community wide party might be off the cards a while longer.
Bunting has always been one of our favourite ways to decorate for street events, it’s colourful, fun and makes ordinary summer days feel like a festival. This simple decoration can be bought but the homemade variety is easy to make, inexpensive, more durable and more sustainable too!

A community hub
Little interactions go a long way towards community connection. An article in the Irish Times this morning had some interesting ideas on making the most of your front garden space so you can spend more time out there and feel more connected to your community at a safe distance.
